Hello and thanks for visiting my site.  I am a 31 year old guitar player from the Twin Cities area.  I am currently playing in 2 bands and am up to my elbows in writing, recording, producing and gigging.

I'm heavily influenced by a number of things, and listen to all sorts of music.  I'm the type of person that likes to stop and appreciate the 'small' things in life.  By doing this, I find myself influenced by a broad range from different areas of life.

For now I am going to try and keep this simple by just having things and items added to this page.  That makes the most sense for now, and it's easier to navigate, right kids?!  Right.  So I'll have some pics, MP3's, links, news...until I can get them all organized around my other duties.  For those of you who have been here before, welcome back and I hope all is well!  For anyone else who is new here, feel free to say hello and drop me a line if you're so inclined.  Until this place is fully up to speed, you can also visit my MySpace page to see the latest updates, news, songs, and other useful info.

Peace,

Erik Lee

Gear

Here are some of the tools of my trade that I'm currently using.  I have some other stuff too, *wink wink*, but alas no pictures so this will have to suffice.  I did sell the G&L, the strat look-alike in the sunburst.  Great guitar...

Nowadays, generally you will see me playing my Les Paul and DRRI...however since I play bass for now in The Black Sails...well, that combo wouldn't really work would it?  Hehe...anyhow, for that at the moment I'm using a Korean made Fender P Bass and a Rickenbacker...neither of which are mine but I am trying to finagle the P Bass out of Lewis...we'll see what happens.

If you would like to help out financially, and contribute to the betterment of mankind by being a benefactor of my work, feel free to send me a donation.  I will be sure to give anyone who does donate, credit as such for projects and I will even let everyone know how I invest it.  How's THAT for transparency?  LOL

Here are some songs I've done over the years, some finished and some in the works.  Most of these you will find on my first release - Trial By Fire, which I go in to a bit of detail about below.  The others are works in progress and are planned for further development and release on an upcoming pending project which is as of yet, untitled.  There are also a couple cuts from The Black Sails set list, (Deadline for now until I get some of these other files edited ) which you will also find more information about below.  Just something to give you a taste of where things are headed in that realm.  This time however, I'm pulling out all stops.  I've had about 3 years or more since I recorded some of these and a lot more experience in all aspects of the process.  Suffice to say, stay tuned!

Back in 2005-2006, I had one of the worst periods of my life, ever.  Without going in to great excruciating detail, I did some music as a tribute of sorts to my father.  The man who helped sculpt me in to the one I am today.  He was not without his faults, as no one is.  However he was one of the best people I have ever had the opportunity to meet, let alone had the opportunity to call - Dad.

With that said, check out some heartfelt instrumentals I had done, and while I know they're not top notch, world-class studio quality...imagine what it's like to have the means to do something.  No matter the experience level, even knowing it was doomed to 'failure' even from the start, I give you - Trial By Fire, downloadable from iTunes.  While there are a couple tracks I am very embarrassed of, I am also proud of most of it.  Not bad considering todays market.
  "It is what it is" , as he would sometimes say.  Click on the iTunes button below to check those songs out.

All hard copies of the CD have been sold at this time, and unless there's some strange demand for it, in all likelihood it will probably remain out of print.

* DriveLine *

Great band, great people.  I had the fortunate opportunity to be involved with this smokin' outfit and played a ton of monster jams and great gigs from private parties, outdoor festivals, night clubs, etc.

Back in the early days, it started out with a wholly different lineup than what they  are today but the DriveLine spirit and mission hasn't wavered.  From Tom, Michelle, Tall Paul, Jerry, and Erik Lee...to Jeff, T. , Danette, Big Jim, and Ace...delivering the blues and rock in spades is their job and they do it well.

Please do yourself a favor, and try to check them out sometime.  Danette Daniels is the lead singer and she has got THE stuff to deliver.  Backed by a crack band of musicians, they're delivering powerhouse performances across the Twin Cities.  Once in awhile, you might even catch me up there with them...doing what we do best.

Check them out @

* The Black Sails *

Wow, what can I say about this band...WE ARE SURVIVORS!  No lie, I think since we've first gotten together back in June 2007, we've gone through a ton of stuff together as a band and not only managed to stay together as a band and core unit, but have written some kick ass material if I do say so myself.

  You can visit our website as well to see what's going on, listen to tunes, see pictures, get news updates, etc.  We'll have more as we setup to record our first album.

* The Mike Fugazzi Band *

One of the bands I play with now - The Mike Fugazzi Band, is now taking bookings for 2009 and early 2010.  Here is an electronic press kit with all the information necessary to book us for your entertainment needs; be it a large festival or an intimate acoustic setting, we aim to please.

Here's a great version of Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones, done by DriveLine last year.

Some gig pics from 2009, both with DriveLine and The Black Sails.  No pics from The Mike Fugazzi Band as of yet, will update as appropriate when/if they become available.
